BMI CALCULATOR AND HOMEWORK The following table summarizes the characteristics of weight, BMI and hip circumference. A higher or lower value indicates that an individual may be overweight (≥ 25 kg/m 2 ) versus underweight (≤ 18–23 g). We use a logarithmic scale rather than linear to represent these values with each metric as it is easier for us; see Table 1. The relative standard deviation from this range ranges between 15kg and 21kg per year in men and > 27kg per season in women.
